Welcome back to the second half of the Spring Term 2016.
As well as welcoming back all our returning children, we would like to welcome to Pre-School our new starter this half-term Owen Clinch.
Our committee members are Joanna King (Chairperson), Sarah Hughes (Vice Chairperson), Keely Pestell (Secretary), Laura Seymour (Treasurer), Vicki Taylor and Caroline Smith.
The Pre-School requires additional funding of over £8000 per year to run. This money is solely raised by the committee, who organise fundraising events in their spare time. Without this money our Pre-School would not be able to function. If you would be interested in getting involved and becoming a committee member or helping hands member, please speak to one of our current committee members at morning drop off or at the end of session, or any other member of Pre-School staff. We appreciate and need as much help as possible.
Term Session Times & Lunch Club
This term’s sessions will operate, Monday to Friday, from 9am until 12 noon. Lunch club will also be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12 noon until 1pm at a cost of £3.82 per session. If you haven’t already included lunch club in your funding (or if your child is too young for funding) you can book these extra sessions on the day and you will be billed at the end of the month.
Please keep registering on the Easy Fundraising website (www.easyfundraising.org.uk) when you internet shop and we can continue to raise valuable funds for the Pre-School. The recent amount raised is on display on the notice board.
When the weather turns colder please can we ask that all children bring to Pre-School; named coats, scarves, gloves, hats and wellies. Our outdoor play area is available to the children throughout the Pre-School sessions. We want them to have fun but stay warm and safe!
Lunch Boxes, Water Bottles & Snack Time
Please can we ask that all lunch boxes, water bottles and snack pots brought into the setting are named (the children have several identical items) and also that they have water in them – not juice or squash. We regularly promote the importance of drinking lots of water and your support is appreciated. This will also help to get them into habits which they will continue when they move on from Pre-School.
If your child stays for lunch club they are welcome to bring a small carton of juice or squash.
We urgently need Parent Helpers, especially on a Wednesday to help us walk the Children to Stanley Drapkin Primary School for their visit. It is a great opportunity for you to see how we operate on a daily basis and have an insight into how your child enjoys their morning of learning through play, whilst beginning to form friendships with their peers.
Many of you have expressed an interest in coming to be a parent helper, please feel free to speak to either Carol or Teresa and sign yourselves in for a session. Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing as many of you helping out as possible. Any day you can spare us would be very much appreciated.
Parent & Toddler Group
There is a Parent and Toddler Group that runs in the main hall every Tuesday during term time, from 10am-12 noon. The health visitor comes to the group on the 2nd Tuesday of every month and the cost is £3 per session. Please contact Teresa on 07805 061169 for more information or pop along for a visit.

DATES FOR THE DIARY
The last day of this term has now been agreed and we will be finishing Pre-School on Wednesday 23 rd March 2016, we have lots of things planned for Easter and full details will be sent out to you separately.
We are also organising another village-wide Garage Sale this year. This is due to take place on Saturday 16th April. If you would like to book a garage/driveway please speak to Teresa. For all the parents who do not live in the village you can still take part by booking a table in the Village Hall. We look forward to as many of you signing up for this event as possible and taking part by visiting all the garages on the day. As always all funds raised go towards keeping our Pre-School running.
Our big fundraising event for the year will take place on Sunday 26th June 2016 and is a 10k multi terrain race and a 3k Fun Run. This event contributes a massive chunk to our fundraising total and without it our Pre-School effectively would be unable to support itself. As such we are asking all Pre-School parents to support the event in some capacity; either as a runner, a marshal, by baking a cake or volunteering in another capacity. Kelly Herniman will be talking to each of you nearer the time to see what you are able to contribute. The 10K is organised by a separate committee of villagers (the Steeple Chasers) and we need to let them know how much we appreciate them choosing us as their charity, once again, by supporting the event as much as possible.

Please note that the Pre-School will be closed on Friday 15th April 2016 as we have a Staff Training Day and also on Thursday 23rd June 2016 as this is the day of the EU Referendum and the Village Hall is being used for this.
