Sadly at the end of this very busy half term we will be wishing Alys a happy retirement. We will miss Alys tremendously and thank her for all her dedication to Pre-School, her ‘absolutely fabulous’ Christmas, Easter and end of term assemblies over the last 8 years she has been with us. I know you will join me in wishing Alys a very happy retirement.
Our committee members are Belinda Ramsey (Acting Chairperson), Keely Pestell (Secretary), Laura Seymour (Treasurer), Vicki Taylor, Joanna King, Caroline Smith, Sarah Hughes, Clare Perry and Chloe Smith. Please feel free to speak to them about Pre-School events and fundraising.
If you would be interested in getting involved and becoming a committee member or helping hands member, please speak to one of our current committee members at morning drop off or at the end of session, who would be delighted to talk to you.
Term Session Times & Lunch Club
This term sessions will operate, Monday to Friday, from 9am until 12 noon. Lunch club will also be available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 12 noon until 1pm at a cost of £3.82 per session. If you haven’t already included lunch club in your funding (or if your child is too young for funding) you can book these extra sessions on the day and you will be billed at the end of the month.
The Halloween Disco was a great success and we raised approximately £760.00 for the Pre-School. Thank you to everyone that attended. A special thank you to all the committee members and parents that helped to organise and run the event on the day.
Please keep registering on the Easyfundraising website (www.easyfundraising.org.uk) when you internet shop and we can continue to raise valuable funds for the Pre-School. The recent amount raised is on display on the notice board.
Bags 2 School
If you fancy having a clear out send any old soft toys, clothes, bags, shoes or fabrics our way. We gather them over a period of time and then arrange for Bags 2 School to come and collect them. They pay us by weight and so far we’ve raised almost £1000 in a year! The next collection date is 27th January 2016. Please bring any items to PreSchool in black bin liners or recycling bags. When the weather turns colder please can we ask that all children bring to Pre-School; named coats, scarves, gloves, hats and wellies. Our outdoor play area is available to the children throughout the Pre-School sessions. We want them to have fun but stay warm and safe! Thank you very much.
Lunch Boxes, Water Bottles & Snack Time
Please can we ask that all lunch boxes, water bottles and snack pots brought into the setting are named (the children have several identical items) and also that they have water in them – not juice or squash. We regularly promote the importance of drinking lots of water and your support is appreciated. This will also help to get them into habits which they will continue when they move on from Pre-School. If your child stays for lunch club they are welcome to bring a small carton of juice or squash.
As we have now settled into the Autumn Term it would be lovely to welcome parents who would like to come and stay for a session. It is a great opportunity for you to see how we operate on a daily basis and have an insight into how your child enjoys their morning of learning through play, whilst beginning to form friendships with their peers. Many of you have expressed an interest in coming to be a parent helper, please feel free to speak to either Carol or Teresa and sign yourselves in for a session. Thank you very much.
Parent & Toddler Group
There is a Parent and Toddler Group that runs in the main hall every Tuesday during term time, from 10am-12 noon. The health visitor comes to the group on the 2nd Tuesday of every month and the cost is £3 per session. Please contact Teresa on 07805 061169 for more information or pop along for a visit.

DATES FOR THE DIARY
The annual Craft Fayre and Family Photo Shoot (Tempest Photography) will be on Saturday 21st November from 9.30 am until 4.00pm in the Village Hall. If you would like to book a slot to have your family’s photo taken, please call Teresa on 07805 061169. To book a stall please call Caroline on 07950 635373 or email email@example.com.
END OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS
The Christmas Assembly will be held on Thursday 17th December, more details will be sent out to you shortly. The last day of term is Friday 18th December and we would like to support Save the Children and their Christmas Jumper Day. The children and staff will wear Christmas jumpers to Pre-School for that session. All we ask is that you help us support this worthy charity by donating £1.00.
